ARK Academy Homeschool Support Program

Assalamu Alaykum.

Dear Community Members,

Earlier this month, we shared an update regarding the opening timeline for ARK Academy. While we are working toward a Fall 2027 launch, we are planning to introduce a Homeschool Support Program at the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County (IECOC) in Costa Mesa, beginning at the end of August. This support would provide families with access to elements of ARK’s curriculum, community, and educational philosophy in the interim.

As part of this program, we aim to support homeschooling families by offering:

A supervised learning environment

Qur’an and Arabic instruction

The ARK Academy curriculum—Islamic studies integrated with Science and Social Studies

Opportunities for social interaction

Families would remain registered with their existing homeschool or charter school programs while participating in our support services. We are intentionally designing this as a support program—not a school of record. This allows families to stay enrolled in programs that handle legal requirements, recordkeeping, and, in many cases, provide funding and resources. Just as importantly, this structure enables us to offer Qur’an and Arabic instruction, as well as our integrated Islamic studies curriculum. Programs that serve as the official school of record are generally not permitted to provide faith-based instruction.

Community input continues to be an essential part of this journey. The conversations, questions, and ideas shared thus far have played a major role in shaping our direction, and we welcome your continued input. Therefore, we invite you to take a few minutes to complete this short survey:

Homeschool Support Program Survey

Your feedback will help us shape a program that best serves our community while remaining aligned with our goals and capacity. We would also appreciate it if you could share this survey with others in your network who may be interested in a homeschool support program.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
