With overwhelming community support, ARK Academy was officially established. The founding members formalized their mission: to create a unique educational environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of purpose in its students.
After thorough planning, the Academy made its first major step towards securing a permanent home. The closing of escrow for the building at 17701 Mitchell N marked a significant milestone, putting the vision closer to reality.
With branding and strategic planning in full force, ARK Academy adopted its official logo, mission, and vision statements. These statements reflect the Academy’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and thinkers in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
In an inspiring show of community support, ARK Academy held its first major fundraiser, successfully raising the full amount needed to purchase the building. This event not only demonstrated financial support but also a shared belief in the Academy’s mission.
The building at 17701 Mitchell N was officially purchased, providing ARK Academy with a permanent space to grow and innovate. The team began planning the renovations needed to transform the building into a state-of-the-art educational facility.
After an extensive search, ARK Academy welcomed its first full-time principal. With strong leadership experience and a deep alignment with ARK Academy’s mission, the new principal took the reins, ready to guide the Academy into its next phase of development.
The second major fundraiser focused on raising the capital necessary for remodeling the Academy’s new building. The event was a resounding success, providing the funds to create modern classrooms, a library, labs, and collaborative spaces essential for a 21st-century learning environment.
ARK Academy brought on board a full-time curriculum designer to craft an integrated content-rich Islamic studies curriculum that incorporates both the natural sciences and social studies. The curriculum is designed to present students with lessons, activities, challenges, and assessments that promote God-consciousness while allowing students to develop and utilize critical thinking skills in developmentally appropriate ways.
ARK Academy draws its inspiration from the symbolic significance of the ark, a vessel of salvation and refuge. As mentioned in a tradition by the Holy Prophet (saws),
Those who board the Purified Household’s (as) ark will attain salvation.
